Wide Mouth Ultralite by Nalgene — The "baby" nalgene is great since it's portable, great size for hot drinks and reliable when tossed around in a backpack with rock gear.
Alpine Light Roll Top 45L Backpack by Mountain Hardwear — This is my preferred crag and approach pack. It's lightweight, climbs well, and is waterproof and durable which helps keep out dirt as well.
Ghost Whisperer Hooded Jacket - Men's by Mountain Hardwear — Lightweight, 800 fill warmth and well fitting, this is my favorite mid-weight puffy jacket. I use this on early mornings and when the sun goes down, and as a belay jacket on crisp winter days in the desert. As well as on a glacier moving in cold weather.
TX Guide Approach Shoe - Men's by La Sportiva — Great approach shoes for scrambling around Joshua Tree, setting up anchors, and even climbing moderate rock.
Crater Lake Hoodie - Men's by Mountain Hardwear — Sun hoodies are the perfect companion for a desert Layering system. Keep this on in the sun and you won't have to worry about all the weird places you may get burned by the sun. It's light, breathable, and is upf 50.
Chockstone Alpine LT Pant - Men's by Mountain Hardwear — Long synthetic and breathable soft shell pant for any adverse weather like wind or light Precipitation. Take these out for multipitch, or any alpine route you have planned. Downside is that they aren't as durable as your favorite crag pant. I recommend these when your'e planning a longer route, with a full day of moving and climbing in mind.
Rockrydge Pant - Men's by Mountain Hardwear — Casual, around town baggy pants that are durable and comfy. These are the workhorse pants that dont get holes after a week of butt-scootin around J-tree.
Up Mocc Climbing Shoe by UnParallel — My favorite general outdoor shoe. If fitted correctly, they are perfect for climbing all sorts of demanding styles of rock from slab to thin finger cracks.
Grigri Belay Device by Petzl — Great for lead, and toprope belays, the grigri offers extra security with it's assisted braking mechanism.
Meteor Climbing Helmet by Petzl — Lightweight, looks good, and is made by a very high quality company.
Totem Cam by Totem Cams — Awesome cam, very highly recommended!
Crack Gloves by Ocun — My favorite crack glove! Sometimes can be make or break on a long crack climbing day in the rough rock in Joshua Tree.
Saka Chalk Bag by Petzl — A chalk bag to keep yourself feeling more confident on the smooth slabs and small crimps. This one is a great size and gets the job done. I love petzl products as you can tell.
Aquila Harness by Petzl — I love this harness, it holds gear incredibly well, is very comfortable and goes well with a darker color scheme.
Rocha Screw Lock Carabiner by Petzl — My favorite lockers, great for clove hitches, hunters and clipping things to anchors! Its lightweight but still very easy to open and versatile.
Volta Dry Climbing Rope - 9.2mm by Petzl — My favorite sport, trad and multi pitch rope. The length I recommend is 60 meters, especially for climbing in Joshua Tree and beyond. It's great for durability, weight and handling.
Ange Finesse Quickdraw by Petzl — These draws are great because they're light, easy to use, great for all types of climbing from sport to trad to ice climbing and big wall. I love the wide and dexterous dogbone! I recommend the ange s and l combo in 10 cm length dog bone.
Torque Nut Tool by Metolius — Great nut tool for following multi-pitch or lead follow style routes. This clips to a gear loop and has a great strength to weight ratio.
Summit Grid Hoodie - Men's by Mountain Hardwear — A great layer for temperature management for multi pitch, and cold weather in the desert and beyond.
